Antique mercury glass witches ball,
witches balls were hung up in 18th and 19th century windows to ward off evil spirits.
It was believed that witches could be entrapped by their own reflection,
hung up they create a great optical effect within a room .
please note when hung the cap lifts away from the ball, this does not effect the structure
